Elizabeth Peratrovich Day is February 16
On February 6, 1988, the Alaska Legislature established February 16 (the day in 1945 on which the Anti-Discrimination Act was signed) as "Elizabeth Peratrovich Day", in order to honor her contributions: "for her courageous, unceasing efforts to eliminate discrimination and bring about equal rights in Alaska" Each year members of the ANB and ANS visit the graves of Elizabeth and Frank Peratrovich to remember their contribution to the history of the ANB and ANS.
